How Can You Tell if an SEO “Expert” is Lying to You?

Getting to the truth about online marketing for home care….

We all see the same ads every day. One seo or ppc “expert” after another, promising to help you get home care leads.

You may suspect that some of these people are LYING.

You would be CORRECT!

Whenever human beings are in a position where it is EASY to lie, and there is a BIG upside to doing so, some people are lying. Guaranteed.

I’ve been a member of the online marketing/SEO/Content/Social Media/ Website Development club for 9 years now. Once you hit that level, you get a very strong sense of who is for real, and who’s BS-ing.

Here’s the truth: There are MAYBE a HANDFUL of SEO experts on the PLANET who can help you get your home care business to explode with online visibility.

Everyone else isn’t worth your time.

 

But what I WILL do is give you some sure-fire ways to spot an “expert” who’s lying. Maybe it will save you some time and money.

Here we go:

1) They don’t have more than one or 2 other home care agencies in their portfolio of clients.

This means they are more of a generalist and just “happen” to have a few clients with home care businesses. This does not mean they are experts.

2) They don’t advertise.

If you don’t advertise, you don’t have a business. If you don’t see your SEO expert turning ad spend into profit (and if he/she can’t teach you to do the same), RUN.

3) What they TEACH is not what they DO.

I was in a mastermind one time. The guru was teaching his amazing follow-up sequence. A student raised his hand and asked, “How is this working for you?” The guy said, “Oh, I don’t do any of this…I just think it’s a good idea.” WTF.

Make sure that your online marketing expert is DOING what they TEACH.

4) They don’t have a team.

This one is HUGE. NO ONE knows everything.

I’m good at Facebook ads. But I’m not world-class.

I’m good at helping clients with website development stuff. But there are people WAY better than I am. (Kyle on our team)

My clients deserve the BEST support in the world. So rather than pretend that I know everything, I hired people who ARE the best. I pay them TOP-DOLLAR to work with my clients, and that’s why my people get such great results.

Does your online marketing expert take care of marketing? And sales? And mindset? And scaling? And lead-gen?

They better have a team. Because nobody knows everything.
