Valerie V Show EP 73: How to Set Up Instagram for Your Home Care /Senior Care Business .


Valerie V:                           Hey everybody, welcome back to the Valerie V. Show. In one second, I’m going to show you how to set up your Instagram account for your home care agency the right way. Be back in one second.

Hey everybody, we are going to start adding Instagram to our suite of services, but we thought everybody should know how to set their Instagram account up for their home care senior care business. So we are going to walk through how to do that today, and how to do it the right way. First of all, you have to have a Facebook business page, at least that’s the best way to do it, and you need to be admin of that Facebook business page, so that you can be admin of your Instagram account.

Now anybody can go on Instagram, download the app on their phone and set up an Instagram account. But what we’re talking about is having business accounts, your business being represented. Not just your face … Like I have a Valerie Whitsell Instagram account. Doesn’t get a whole lot of use, but I have three or four business accounts that we manage. So one of them is Valerie V. Show, one of them is Home Care Daily, and then we have a couple of others here and there.

But what you want to do is if you’ve started an Instagram account that is not set up as a business, you want to convert it to a business account. The only way you can do that is to have a Facebook business page and be admin of that Facebook business page. So in just one second, you’re going to see a video that I did not create that shows you how to set up your current Instagram account or one that you’ve created, and make it into a business account. Instagram runs primarily off of hashtags, as far as getting followers and likes and visitors. So keep your personal pictures over here on this Instagram account, but promote your business on your business Instagram account. So watch this quick video and then we’ll be right back.

Instagram Guy:                 With an Instagram business profile, it’s easier than ever for people to discover your business and get in touch with you directly from the app. To switch to a business profile, log into your business’s public Instagram account on a mobile device. Visit your profile, tap the gear icon to access your account settings. Then tap Switch to Business Profile.

Tap Continue to connect to Facebook. Tap Continue As to select the Facebook page you’d like to use. If you don’t see your business’s Facebook page as an option, make sure that you’re listed as an admin in the settings menu. Once the correct Facebook page appears, select it and tap Next.

You will need to add a phone number, physical address, or email so customers can get in touch. Once everything looks correct, tap Done to save your Instagram business profile and settings. Now that your business profile is set up, your customers can contact you directly through your profile. You can also view follower insights and promote your posts, all within the app.

Valerie V:                           Okay, so here’s the next thing that’s important to know. You can look at your Instagram account and your IGTV account from your desktop. So most of the time, people are on their phones running their Instagram account, but it can be managed in other ways. So I’m going to show you what that looks like from the desktop perspective. There are some limitations, but once it’s set up, at least you can view it and modify your profile and things like that. So here we go.

Okay, here you can see my home care daily account. Now this one isn’t very good, and we literally just set it up. So I am going to log out of this one. Let’s go to Instagram, let’s go here. Oh cogwheel, log out. Okay, I’m going to switch accounts, and I am going to put in Valerie V. Show and log in.

Okay, so if I want to go to my profile, I can see all of the Valerie V. Show stuff here. Notice that I can’t add anything to the Valerie V. Show. It won’t let me add a picture or do anything like that, but IGTV does let me upload videos. So I can upload videos to IGTV, but I cannot upload posts to Instagram, which is a little crazy to me, but that’s the way they work it.

Also, I can log out and I can back in to Home Care Daily. So you can switch between accounts anytime you want. This one needs a whole lot of work. But that’s how you manage it from your desktop. Now from your phone, it works as an app. So there you go. I want to see my information, I just go there and I can see all my stuff.
